Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has called on the population to do more to reduce electricity consumption amid continued damage to his country’s energy infrastructure following Russian attacks.
In a new video published on Telegram, the president pointed out that the networks have to reduce the energy supply in some cities and regions to ensure stability system operation.
At the same time, he affirmed that it will be possible to avoid blackouts if everyone reduces their consumption during peak hours, between 17: 00 and the 23: .
In this sense, he cited as an example the residents of the Chernigov region who have decreased consumption by 17%, while kyiv and its province have only done so by 7%. At the national level, consumption has been reduced by 10 %.
“Please do more if you have the opportunity,” Zelensky asked the inhabitants.

This escalation of the conflict follows the attack on the Crimean Bridge, which left several people dead and damaged two sections of the structure. The attack was described by Russian President Vladimir Putin as an act of terrorism by kyiv “aimed at destroying critical civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation.”
