In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Police officers arrested a group of suspected Israeli Mossad agents who were holding a Palestinian citizen hostage, local media reported.
According to these reports, the kidnapper, whose identity has not been revealed, comes from the Gaza Strip and was abducted on the night of 28 September by Malaysian citizens who had been recruited and trained in Europe by the Israeli intelligence agency. A second Palestinian, who was with the victim, alerted the local police.

At the time of his release, the hostage, who is said to have links with the Ezzeldin Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, was being interrogated by suspected Mossad agents through a video call from Tel Aviv, reported The Times of Israel.
Malaysian Interior Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said authorities will investigate the matter and take action if the agency is found to be Israeli espionage is behind the incident. “We must examine issues like this. We will announce new measures,” he said. Fawzi Barhoum, a spokesman for Hamas, said: “We highly appreciate the efforts of the Malaysian government and its security services to free the Palestinian citizen kidnapped by the Mossad Zionist gangs, who violated the sovereignty of the Malaysian territories in an attempt to disrupt its security and stability and the integrity of its guests”.
