Head of the Unit for North America, of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Velasco, confirmed in statements to the press the meeting to make Kerry aware of the Sonora Plan2022.
Leaving the National Palace, where the details of the meeting between the Mexican president and the US special envoy are being finalized, Velasco explained that “there is an ambitious plan to attraction of investments to Sonora and it is a plan that incorporates clean energies”. “This is what is going to be discussed”, he added .
He also hoped that it would be “a good conversation” because the talks have been going on for months with the Kerry team. In this regard, he stated: “We are doing very well.”
According to Velasco, the issue of lithium will also be put on the table.
