Despite the brake, the training for teachers on the new program will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the School Calendar 2022-2023.
The implementation of the Curriculum for Preschool, Primary and Secondary, devised by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) of Mexico, has been suspended after several appeals promoted by civil organizations.
On Tuesday, during the national meeting of State Educational Authorities, the head of the SEP, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, He clarified that the unit in charge of him will follow up on these protections before the Judicial Power, but he stressed that the training for teachers on the new curriculum will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the School Calendar 2022-2023.

The reason why the program was suspended, whose implementation was planned as of 29 of October in 960 schools, is that the civil organization Educación con Rumbo filed an amparo appeal against the plan, which he qualifies as unconstitutional.
In detail, this organization alleges that the educational plan would violate at least five articles of the Constitution, and was not submitted for consultation before the National Participation Council Scholar in Education (Conapase).
The lawyer representing the civil organization, Miguel Ángel Ortiz, stated that the program “is unconstitutional as it establishes two models of education: one for 850 public schools, which do not meet the quality standard, which does not have the certainty of the plans, programs and educational material that will serve as the basis, in addition to the fact that the teachers have not been previously trained; and another for the rest of the public and private schools”.
The Sixth District Court in Administrative Matters in Mexico City agreed with them , so the pilot program is suspended.
The SEP, for its part, has filed the legal remedies and, in the words of Ramírez Amaya, it is expected prompt resolution to favor of the best interest of girls, boys and adolescents in the country.
