The Colombian Government hands over a farm belonging to a former paramilitary chief to 50 peasant families

The delivery event for the 591 hectare property, which is located in the municipality of Montería, in the Colombian department of Córdoba, had this Saturday the presence of President Gustavo Petro. “Agrarian reform begins here”, which will be “the basis” for achieving peace in the country , asserted the president.

For its part, the Special Assets Company (SAE), through which the delivery was made, indicated in a statement that this initiative seeks to “provide alternatives for production and subsistence that transform the living conditions of the peasant families that inhabit the place, so that they contribute to an environmentally sustainable rural development.”
