Protests in the capital of Moldova: protesters throw eggs at the Police

Those gathered expressed their dissatisfaction with the rise in prices and accused the Government of not resolving the energy crisis.

A massive protest in the center of Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, has resulted in arrests and clashes with the Police. Organized by the opposition Sor party, the demonstrations took place for the seventh time since last 18 September.

On this occasion the mobilizations resulted in the arrest of 28 people, according to the Police, who also prosecuted others 31 people before the rally for their intention to cause destabilization.

The participants of the protest started from the Academy of Sciences toward the city center, but law enforcement blocked a central boulevard where they were headed. In the midst of the agitation, some demonstrators threw eggs at police officers and vehicles.

The anti-government protests broke out in the midst of the complicated energy situation. The protesters hold President Maia Sandu responsible for the crisis and the impoverishment of the population.
