Pope Francis received a pair of personalized sneakers with the papal coat of arms and the colors of the Vatican, as a gift from the American priest Jim Sichko.

Specifically, It’s about a Nike model ‘Blazer Mid 77’ in yellow and white, the papal coat of arms and his name in English, Pope Francis, written on the shoe.

The gift was given at a hearing between the two held last 12 October, in a wooden box with the Latin phrase ‘miserando atque choosing’ (he looked at it with mercy and chose it), in reference to the motto chosen by the supreme pontiff.
