Petro on the ballot in Brazil: “Fascism must be stopped”

Published:

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, spoke this Saturday about the second round of the presidential elections in Brazil that starts this Sunday and urged to stop “fascism”.

“Let Brazil shine the light of Latin America. There are those who say that fascism does not exist. It is in each one of us. It stops inside and outside. If we want more days for humanity, fascism must be stopped,” tweeted the leader.

Petro did not directly mention the candidate of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, nor his right-wing rival and current president Jair Bolsonaro, but attached a photo of a march that the Workers’ Party candidate held this Saturday along with his supporters on Paulista Avenue in Sao Paulo.
