Peruvian actor and singer Diego Bertie passed away this Friday at the age of 54 age, after he fell from the 14th floor of a building in Lima, without the reason for the fatal accident being known at the moment.
During the early hours of the morning, the doorman of the building where Bertie lived, located in the Miraflores district of Lima, called the emergency service to report a person injured in a fall.
“The unit arrives at the scene, confirms the fall of a person who was between a vehicle and a parking lot wall. It proceeds with the protocol of the patient who was, in sight, with broken legs,” reported Mario Casaretto, general commander of volunteer firefighters in Lima and Callao, in interview with the radio station Exitosa Noticias.

Of According to Casaretto, the paramedics reported that Bertie had “stable vital signs” at the time of transfer to José Casimiro Hospital Ulloa, after 04:00 in the morning (local time).
For its part, the José Casimiro Ulloa Hospital reported in a press release that Bertie “was treated immediately by health professionals.” However, confirmed his death.
From the Ministry of Culture of Peru “deeply” lamented the death of Bertie, who was “recognized for his work in film, television and theater.” Thus, the portfolio expressed its condolences to the relatives and friends of the Peruvian artist.
Bertie stood out for his participation in the Peruvian soap operas: ‘Canela’, ‘Obsesión’, ‘Leonela, dying of love’ and ‘Things of love’. In addition, the actor starred in two more on Venezuelan television: ‘Lovers of the Full Moon’ and ‘Vale Todo’.
Likewise, Bertie stood out in Peruvian cinema with the film ‘Una Sombra al Frente’ (2007), by director Augusto Tamayo San Román.
On the other hand, Bertie also ventured into the music industry and released two solo albums: ‘Blue Fire’ (1997) and ‘When love arrives’ (2003 ).
