After days of rumors, Universidad de Chile confirmed on Wednesday the signing of Matías Zaldivia for the 2023 season.

At 31 years of age and after not being able to renew his contract with Colo Colo, the Argentine defender who became a Chilean citizen signed a contract that will link him to the secular university team for one season.

“He arrives to bring all his experience to the defense of the Romantic Traveller for 2023”, said the U de Chile through their social networks.

With this, Matías Zaldivia becomes the fourth Azulgrana in Mauricio Pellegrino’s squad, joining defenders Juan Pablo Gómez, midfielder Federico Mateos and forward Leandro Fernández.
