The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced on Wednesday the introduction of martial law in the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhie, recently joined the country.
At the beginning of the meeting of the Russian Security Council, Putin declared that the kyiv authorities refused to recognize the results of the referendums held in those regions and reject “any proposal for negotiations”, while continuing to carry out attacks using “frankly terrorist methods”.
In this context, he stressed that the special services of Ukraine organized the attack on the Crimean bridge. “ We have frustrated attacks in other regions of Russia, in particular in places of mass concurrence of people, against transport, energy, among them, I want to highlight, nuclear energy facilities,” he said.
Putin recalled that the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, imposed the law martial before joining Russia. “And now we need to formalize this regime already within Russian law. That is why I signed a decree on the introduction of martial law in these four subjects of the Russian Federation“, he pointed.

“The council will include vice prime ministers, representatives of the security forces , the socioeconomic bloc of the Government and the presidential administration, as well as the Council of State, which will allow interaction with all the regions of the country,” he declared.
