The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, met this Tuesday with the president of the Walmart Internacional store chain, Judith McKenna, to discuss actions to reduce the price of food in the midst of generalized inflation.
“The agreement was to do everything possible to lower food inflation,” López Obrador announced on his Twitter account, noting that Walmart’s sales are equivalent to 25 % of retail trade in Mexico.
