The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hungarian Parliament will consider on October 24 the ratification of the treaty on the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO, according to its page Web. The promoter of the proposal is Ágnes Vadai, deputy of the opposition Democratic Coalition party.
It is not the first time that Hungarian parliamentarians have discussed the accession of these two Nordic countries to the Alliance . On October 3, the ratification proposal was rejected by 117 deputies, while 39 supported it.
On October 6, David Pressman, the US ambassador to Hungary, declared that he hopes “there is no need to exert pressure” on Budapest to ratify the respective treaty.
