Factory-sealed 2007 iPhone auctioned for nearly $40,000

The US auction house LCG Auctions announced this Sunday that it managed to sell for a price of 39.51 dollars for a first-generation iPhone that was still in its original packaging, like when it was released in 2007. The Apple device, with 8 GB of internal storage, was put up for sale for 2.500 dollars.

“This factory-sealed launch specimen is in exceptional condition,” LCG Auctions clarified, adding that the smartphone, which was designed under the direction of Steve Jobs, it was “brand new” and “was never activated”.

The first iPhone was presented by Jobs during the MacWorld event, held in the Californian city of San Francisco on January 9, 2007. In June of 2007 it was released to the public for a price of about 500 dollars.
