Joseph Lubin compared the current version of the metaverse to the Internet at 1994.
Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of cryptocurrency software company ConsenSys, predicts that the metaverse will become an integral part of human life.
“I believe that it’s a bit like connecting to the Internet at 1994. When I dialed on my phone to connect to the Internet, I used to go for coffee and breakfast, and then I would come back, and my email would be downloaded,” Lubin said in an interview with the specialized portal Decrypt.
Along these lines, he highlighted that the metaverse will become something as ubiquitous as email, although he acknowledges that the current versions offer a rough experience to the user: “The experience of being in Web3 is not as attractive as it will be very soon”, he predicted. “It will be then when the masses will be there”, he added.
Despite the incursions into the virtual worlds of the technological giants, like Meta (a company considered extremist in Russia) and Apple, these have not yet become the accessible, entertaining and functional virtual ‘paradise’ as initially promised.
