This Monday, during maintenance work at the Olkiluoto 3 (OL3) nuclear reactor, located in western Finland, some damage was detected in the internal parts of the water pumps, local media reported.

According to Johanna Aho, director of communications at Teollisuuden Voima, the company that owns the nuclear power plant, the impact of the fault is currently being investigated. However, it states that there is no threat to nuclear safety.

At the same time, it was reported that the damage found may affect the expected time for the reactor to be fully operational .
