Costa Rica has qualified for the 2022 Qatar World Cup after defeating this Tuesday 1 -0 to the New Zealand team in the playoff match played in Doha, Qatar.
The Central American team was hit with a goal by Joel Campbell, in the 3rd minute, to win against the oceanic nation and get the key to enter Group E, along with the teams from Germany, Spain and Japan.
New Zealand played from the 69th minute with one less, after the expulsion of Kosta Barbarouses.
The Ticos return to the World Cup, this time led by Colombian Luis Fernando Suárez, who made history with Ecuador in Germany 2006, when he reached the round of 16 ending for the first time in its history.
