The authorities arrested another man and a woman. All of them are accused of extortion, homicides and drug trafficking.
Captured in Colombia alias 'Israel', one of the leaders of the Clan del Golfo
Colombian security forces captured one of the leaders of the Clan del Golfo identified as alias ‘Israel’, who directed the actions of the criminal group in the department of Santander.
Mauricio Aguilar Hurtado, governor of Santander, reported that the capture of the criminal was carried out on Tuesday through “ an arduous task of intelligence and investigation” carried out by the Police together with the Prosecutor’s Office.
The leader of the Clan del Golfo, a criminal group also known as Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AGC), was the leader of the ‘Luis Alfonso Echavarría’ Substructure and was arrested along with two other people.

“Those captured are He accuses them of crimes such as extortion, selective homicides, territorial control and drug trafficking in Puerto Wilches and Barrancabermeja,” explained Aguilar.
According to local media outlet Blu Radio, the other two captured were identified as alias ‘El flaco’ and alias ‘Paola’, alleged sentimental partner of ‘Israel’.
During the police operation, the authorities seized a fragmentation grenade, cartridges and mobile equipment.
