Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has signed a “exclusive” partnership agreement with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo for the promotion of non-fungible tokens (NFT).
“We are starting an exclusive partnership of Multi-year NFT with soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo This is your chance to own an iconic piece of sports history and to join the CR7 Web3 community”, the company wrote on its Twitter account.

During the agreement, which will remain in place for several years, the Manchester United player and the crypto company will create a series of NFT collections that will be available from the end of this year, reported Binance in a statement.

This is not Ronaldo’s first foray into the digital asset and NFT space. Last year, he became in the first professional soccer player to be awarded with cryptocurrencies.
The deal comes at a time when NFTs are gaining more public traction and crypto platforms are looking to scale their operations and reach a wider audience around the world through agreements with sports associations.
