Nearly 5 million members of the Communist Party of China have been investigated for alleged corruption offenses in the last decade.
Nearly 5 million members of the Communist Party of China (PCC) have been investigated for alleged crimes of corruption in the last decade and formal criminal charges have been filed against 553 people.
Also, close to 207.00 party officials have been punished in some way since their leader and country’s president, Xi Jinping, came to power years ago, reported the undersecretary of the Disciplinary Committee and Match Inspection, Xiao Pei, quoted by AP.

Xiao added that most of those arrested had committed this type of crime for a long time, while the proportion of people caught in bribery for the first time stood at 11 %. “The spread of corruption has been resolutely contained”, Xiao assured.
